Nuclear Materials Becoming Increasingly Hard to Tally
President Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev are attending the second global conference on nuclear material in Seoul, South Korea. The conference has a scary security purpose – insuring protection of enriched nuclear material that is becoming increasingly difficult to account for in toto.
Bloomberg Businessweek has a lengthy piece on the problem of insuring that enriched nuclear materials don’t get into the hands of terrorists. It’s not happy reading. But the issue is critically important for security officials to be familiar with. So dig in.
