DHS Exploring Its ‘Big Data’ Future
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued an industry request to help it understand the implications/promise of “Big Data” (digital operations) for accomplishing its mission of protecting the homeland.
Whether that’s something to cheer or fear remains to be seen. For now, from Government Security News, is DHS’s explanation of its Big Data aims: “We are seeking additional information from industry to assist with the identification of transformational opportunities to improve mission and achieve operational efficiencies and lower costs through advanced analytic automation for DHS and the Homeland Security Enterprise.”
In these digital times, this is a hefty aim that will certainly bear watching.
