‘Virtual USA’: A Promising Security Information Source

Lest we delay any longer, we note that the Obama Administration’s Virtual USA website was officially launched earlier this month. It’s an information-sharing effort that’s well worth the security community’s attention.

Virtual USA, says the Homeland Security Blog, “relies on collaboraton among local agencies, neighboring jurisdictions, states, regions and citizens and the participation of each of those groups and many more.” USA Today reports that, at its present level of development, the site contains collaborative materials with fire, police and rescue personnel in eight states.

Virtual USA has the potential for growing into an exhaustive Homeland Security library of readily available supportive information for security and first-responder units.
