An App for Disasters

We’re indebted to Oregon Emergency Management for spreading the word on an app for disaster management  at the iTunes store – Disaster Readiness 2011. While the app was released originally last March, there’s an updated version for this year.

For ninety-nine cents, you can arm your iPhone with instructions on dealing with everything from a tornado to chemical emergencies and nuclear blasts, including maintaining a disaster supply kit and an emergency checklist.

Would that such gear wasn’t necessary, or at least advisable. But since it is, it’s good for security-conscious folks to know “There’s an app for that!” This one was developed by Phoneflips, which also has one for emergency first aid. (And another for babysitting – isn’t creativity wonderful?)
