‘Conversations’ at Checkpoints

It can be hazardous to hold a prolonged ‘inquiry’ at a checkpoint. Tempers can flare. It’s advisable to have a barrier – like PRO Barrier’s Arrestor – that can rise quickly with them.

Such thoughts are prompted by a posting to a SecurityInfoWatch.com forum on passing tractor trailers through security gates. Occasionally, the writer observes, there are truckers who hesitate to show their drivers license. They may be owner-operators who are not under as tight control as company drivers and may not have valid trucking licenses.

Whatever the case, the writer – apparently knowledgeable about such circumstances – advises:

“So in conclusion, if a truck driver refuses to show his ID, advice (sic) him (or her) that you suspect they’re driving on a suspended or revoked license, or carrying a fake commercial license; and you will call the police/sheriff/state trooper to the scene if they continue to resist. Observe their reaction to this.”

Wouldn’t you prefer to have an Arrestor in place while this sort of encounter continues?
