Making an Impact in D.C.

PRO Barrier Engineering is pleased to announce several new security projects in the Washington, D.C., area featuring the crash-certified Arrestor and crash-rated LightFoot. Three existing facilities will receive perimeter security upgrades to include these unique hybrid vehicle barriers designed by Dr. Tom Potter.

In addition, PRO Barrier’s LightFoot has been chosen for a new building project as part of a complex, integrated security solution. An essential benefit of the energy-absorbing band technology utilized in the hybrid barriers is the reduction of the peak forces applied to the foundation during impact as compared to a rigid steel wedge-type barrier. These features, which are quite unique in the industry, have established the Arrestor and Lightfoot as ideal for applications where loading to the substructure (earth, building, etc.) is of concern, such as a ramp area in a parking garage.
