The Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in southeastern Georgia is antsy of parachutists landing inside its perimeter, given that that’s happened seven times in the past three years. Of course, not everyone has a parachuting business, the Jumping Place, next door. The errant skydivers either were blown off course or lost visibility.
Could there be a more premeditated attempt to thwart ground-based security somewhere? It’s unlikely but, especially if you’ve got a large perimeter, worth recognizing as possible. Then you need to plan how best to spot, and thwart, a “jump-in.”
