U.S. shopping centers and malls have not acted as though the lessons of 9/11 have much relevance for them, a report funded by the U.S. Justice Department and produced by the Police Foundation, finds.
ASIS International, the nation’s largest association of private security managers, considers the report and the “complacency” it points up to be disconcerting.
Shopping centers seeking a friction-free experience for customers truly have challenging access and compatibility issues. But such issues need to be faced along with those at any business that welcomes the public.
