Heightened Explosive Threat – from Invisible ‘Liquid Bombs’

The stakes in bomb technology keep rising. Security Management reports that terrorists have now evidently developed an advanced “ingenious” type of liquid explosive. Apparently, clothes can be doused in the explosive which, when it dries, “becomes virtually undetectable by current security measures.”

The new bomb threat, seen as “a new and improved version of the underwear bomb,” evidently has been developed “by Ibrahim al-Asiri of ‘al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula,’ or AQAP.” It’s little comfort that “clothes saturated with explosives is far from a new phenomenon…”  This latest version looks like a major concern for transportation security officials, Security Management advises.
