Risks of Not ‘Thinking Risk’

Security managers need to take a broader view of their field, lest they risk being seen as failing to perceive risks to their organizations, not just potential threats.

This head-spinner comes from Geoff Kohl, editor of Security Info Watch, in his reflections on the SecureWorld Expo in Atlanta on May 3.

Most of the “10 Trends for Unified Risk Oversight” Kohl lists have to do with aspects of risk perception. “Security is out of date for most departments; risk has become the new paradigm for corporate America,” Kohl advises.
