Another Advisory on Protecting Against Email ‘Phishing’


Beware of attack by an email message, a tactic known as “phishing”. It’s seen as the “No. 1 cyber security security threat.”

A survey by Clearswift of business decision makers and employees in the UK, US, Germany and Australia “ranked phishing emails as the top threat when asked what they saw as the biggest cybersecurity danger to their organization.”

As defined by Webopedia, phishing by email is “the act of sending an email to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft.”
