‘Behavioral Analysis’ – An FBI Criminal, Security Discipline

This may sound a little nerdy, but, advises In Public Safety, the FBI is providing guidance in behavorial analysis as part of coping with terrorists and other security threats.

The bureau’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) consists of three separate units: Counterterrorism/threat assessment,  Crimes against adults and Crimes against children.

“In addition to helping investigators solve countless violent crimes,” the post continues, “the BAU program is constantly collecting information on violent offenders in an effort to better understand the minds of violent offenders and identify patterns of behavior.”

Read on to better understand how security preparedness has a sociological dimension. The FBI can assure you of that.
